Louise joins as we continue to morph an identity that is living on after #IWD as new #Authors keep joining in and new books keep arriving for new readers, whose feedback we are collecting and will share. Louise has been working as a complementary therapist since 1999 and has a busy private practice. She is a reiki master and qualified in many other healing modalities including reflexology, aromatherapy, Indian head massage, mindfulness, EFT, NLP and much more.
She learned how to meditate when her children were young. This helped her to relax and connect to a deeper peace. The loss of a child is unimaginable, but Louise managed to turn this heart-breaking experience into something positive. By sharing her letters, insights, thoughts and feelings with the world she is not only keeping Matthew’s memory alive but also giving hope to other people that life can meaningful again after the death of a loved one. Now in our third year and supporting #IWD2026, we’ve been reflecting on the wonderful Authors, whose generosity has ensured their books have found grateful readers, in the process discovering new authors and titles.
This year need is even greater, especially now we include Women’s Refuges in our mission to support women in need.

What is She Reads, She Leads?
Launched by Meg Zanker(Chair Hucknall WI), Valerie Dwyer FRSA SUCCESS Coach, Mindset Mentor, Speaker, Author(My Wonderful Life Coach) Sue Williams(Book Boost) to support IWD 2024 this book gifting initiative was so popular it developed a life of it’s own.
We support, celebrate, empower and inspire women in need in communities with the gift of a book donated by female authors or publishers with a focus on inspirational, motivational, educational, true life, personal development, non-fiction. Books wrapped and distributed by @HucknallWI reach women in need in education, business or who may be facing difficult times. March celebrates International Women’s Day, Women’s History Month and World Book Day When better to empower and inspire women!
