“When women come together to support each other, incredible things happen”

Louise’s book “Letters to Matthew – Life After Loss” invites you into the world of grief. It is not sugar coated or edited to make it an easy read, which is why it has been separated into two distinct parts.

Part one contains the heartfelt letters written by grieving mother Louise to her son Matthew after he died at the age of 27. The letters are a mixture of anguish, deep sorrow, humour, wisdom, personal insights, and experiences that may resonate with others who have lost a special person.

Part two is about her journey of self-discovery and how Louise turned her grief and loss into something positive.

The loss of a child is unimaginable, but Louise has managed to turn this heart-breaking experience into something positive. By sharing her letters, insights, thoughts, and feelings with the world she is not only keeping Matthew’s memory alive but also giving hope to other people that life can be meaningful again after the death of a loved one.

“A Gift for Grief has been a gentle companion during one of the hardest seasons of my life. Each episode feels safe, honest, and deeply comforting. I always come away with something meaningful – a new perspective, a moment of calm, or simply the reassurance that I’m not alone.” SB

Letters to Matthew -Life After Loss is also available on Audible and inspiration behind the popular podcast ‘A Gift for Grief-Life After Loss’  https://tinyurl.com/282mdxcp

Louise said: “I created this website to support my podcast and my books ‘Letters to Matthew’ and ‘A Gift for Grief’, but also to reach out to others who are experiencing grief and loss. This is a safe space where you will find compassion, empathy and kinship. You will hopefully be inspired by my uplifting blogs and find support from these pages.

If you have been recently bereaved or feel stuck in grief, I am very sorry for your loss, I do hope you find love and support here.

Celebrating my books and creating this website feels bittersweet for me because it came about after the death of my son Matthew, but my hope is that by sharing my story it will guide others who are walking a similar path.

Grief can be incredibly lonely. I hope you find some comfort here. You are not alone.

Love and hugs, Louise Bates
